|
It + be + adjetive + (that) + sujeto + should (en inglés británico) |
It + be + adjetive + (that) + sujeto + infinitivo sin to (en inglés norteamericano) |
• Estas construcciones se usan detrás de oraciones principales que indican posibilidad, imposibilidad, suposición, opinión, necesidad:

Recordemos que el tiempo de la oración principal NO influye en el tiempo de la subordinada: It's not a good idea (that) he should speak to them. It was best (that) she shouldn't refuse to go. |
• Con estas expresiones, también se utiliza la construcción, más informal:
It + be + adjetive + FOR + objeto + infinitivo con to |
It's vital for us to go there.
(Es fundamental que vayamos allí.)
Was it recommended for Bob to phone home?
(¿Era recomendable que Bob llamara a casa?)
It's important for your friend not to take that flight.
(Es importante que tu amigo no coja ese vuelo.)
Esta construcción es bastante frecuente con too (demasiado) y con enough (bastante): It was too early for them to come. It isn't clear enough for the child to understand. It will be too lte for him not to know something. |
