Las oraciones subordinadas (introducidas por el conjunción) no tienen autonomía propia. Cuando desempeñan la función de adverbio o locución adverbial, pueden ser:

• Causales (of cause)

• Comparativas (of comparison)

• Concesivas (of contrast)

• Condicionales (of condition)

• Consecutivas (of result)

• De lugar (of place)

• De modo (of manner)

• De tiempo (of time)

• Finales (of purpose)
